The 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Bayero, has called off the Eid-el-Fitr Durbar celebration, citing security concerns in the state. 

Speaking at his Nasarawa Mini Palace in Kano on Wednesday night, he emphasized that maintaining peace among the people is more important than the Durbar festivities. 

Initially, the Durbar was set to mark both the Eid celebration and his fifth anniversary on the throne. However, after consultations with Islamic scholars, elders, stakeholders, and his council members, he decided to cancel the event for the sake of stability. 

The Emir encouraged Kano residents to use the Sallah period to strengthen family and community bonds while celebrating peacefully. 

He also offered prayers for divine blessings and mercy during Ramadan, hoping for forgiveness and prosperity for the people of Kano.
