Respecting the Rights of Others During Ramadan
As the holy month of Ramadan enters its final stages, Dr. Sanusi Lafiagi, a distinguished Islamic scholar, is calling on Imams to be mindful of their use of loudspeakers during late-night prayers.

Lafiagi emphasized that Islam prioritizes the rights and well-being of all individuals, including those who may not be participating in the prayers. He noted that excessive noise from loudspeakers can disrupt the peace and quiet that many members of the community need, particularly:

* Those who have completed their Tarāwīh prayers and are resting

* Women who are not praying due to valid reasons

* Pregnant and nursing mothers who need sleep

* The sick and elderly who require rest

* Non-Muslims who have the right to peaceful sleep

* Young children who need uninterrupted rest

* Those who prefer to observe Qiyāmul-Layl privately with their families

Lafiagi urged Imams and worshippers to be considerate of others by refraining from using loudspeakers during late-night prayers. He concluded by praying, "May Allāh accept it from us all."

This appeal serves as a timely reminder that while devotion is a core aspect of Ramadan, maintaining peace and consideration for others is an equally important Islamic principle.
