Assalamu Alaikum.

This guide explores Islamic principles of fairness in allocating resources among children. Perfect equality may be challenging, but understanding core teachings offers guidance and peace. We will examine the balance between equal treatment and individual needs, drawing from the Quran and Hadith.

The Quran emphasizes justice ('adl). Surah Al-Ma'idah (5:8) highlights standing firm for justice, even against oneself or relatives. It stresses upholding justice regardless of wealth, urging believers not to follow desires that hinder fairness in their actions and testimonies.

Numerous Hadith emphasize equitable treatment of children. The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Fear Allah and treat your children fairly." This warns against unfairness. Another Hadith highlights considering individual needs, stating the best are kindest to their families. Fairness should be balanced with compassion.

Regarding gifts, striving for fairness is ideal, though perfect equality isn't always possible. Good intentions and avoiding clear partiality are key. Inheritance adheres to Islamic rules for fair distribution after death. Scholars advise considering children's ages, needs, and circumstances for equitable support.

Scenario 1: University admissions require fair support for both. Avoid forcing compromise or diminishing either opportunity. Each admission is significant and should be celebrated equally. Fairness dictates offering support if financially feasible for both Crescent University and Madina University.

Scenario 2: Non-essential gifts require equitable distribution, considering Islamic inheritance principles (males double females). This applies mainly to inheritance, not all gifts. Focus on fairness, avoiding partiality, considering ages and needs. A strict ratio might not always fit, but the spirit of equity should guide.

Fairness in spending is vital in Islamic parenting. While equality is good, acting justly and compassionately, considering individual needs, is paramount. Quranic justice and the Prophet's emphasis on equity guide parents. The goal is raising loved, secure, and valued children, fostering a harmonious family. May Allah guide us.
