The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has categorically denied a malicious publication circulating online, describing it as baseless and unfounded. According to Imam Haroun Muhammad Eze, the Council's Deputy National Legal Adviser, the publication's claims are not only false but also reprehensible, especially considering the Sultan's esteemed position as a leader of the Muslim community in Nigeria.

Imam Eze emphasized that the Muslim community in Nigeria, led by the Sultan, comprises people from diverse ethnic backgrounds, making it unthinkable for such a respected leader to make the alleged statement. Furthermore, the Sultan has been out of the country for two weeks, casting further doubt on the publication's authenticity.
The NSCIA typically wouldn't dignify such false claims with a response, trusting that reasonable individuals would dismiss them outright ¹. However, the Council felt compelled to address the issue to prevent potential harm to those who may be misled by the false information.

The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) urges all Nigerians to disregard the false publication and to verify the accuracy of any information before consuming or sharing it, while also praying for peace and unity in the country.
