Amnesty accuses Israel of deliberate starvation policy in Gaza

Amnesty International has accused Israel of enforcing a deliberate policy of starvation against Palestinians in Gaza. The rights group released a report warning that millions are at risk of famine as Israel continues to restrict the flow of humanitarian aid into the besieged territory.

The report is based on testimonies from displaced Palestinians and medical staff who treated severely malnourished children. Amnesty stated that Israel's actions are not accidental but a systematic campaign designed to weaken Gaza's population and social fabric.

According to the organization, the starvation crisis is part of a wider pattern of destruction. Amnesty said Israel has adopted policies over the past 22 months that intentionally created conditions threatening the survival of Gaza's people. The group described these measures as evidence of an ongoing campaign of genocide.

Witnesses interviewed included 19 displaced Palestinians in camps and two hospital staff members in Gaza City. They described extreme shortages of food, unsafe shelter, and worsening health conditions. These accounts highlight how families struggle daily to find basic supplies.

When contacted about Amnesty's findings, Israeli authorities did not immediately respond. However, Israel has repeatedly denied accusations of deliberate starvation. The Israeli defense ministry body overseeing civil affairs in Palestinian territories previously rejected reports of widespread malnutrition in Gaza.

Amnesty has previously accused Israel of committing what it called a "live-streamed genocide." Despite strong denials from Israeli officials, human rights organizations continue to urge urgent international action to stop the humanitarian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza.
