Kano State's Islamic law enforcement agency, Hisbah, has taken popular TikTok influencer Hafsat Babu, widely known as Hafsat Baby, into custody after a nude video of her went viral, sparking significant outrage in the region.

Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, the Commander-in-Chief of Hisbah, confirmed her arrest, stating that the young influencer had gained notoriety for sharing inappropriate content on social media platforms. Sheikh Daurawa also shared a video showing Hafsat Baby alongside several other women who had been arrested, though he did not disclose further details regarding the case.

The scandal erupted shortly after Hafsat posted a TikTok video announcing her decision to delete her previous controversial content. This decision reportedly followed advice she received from the Hisbah board regarding her online activities.

Hafsat Babu responded to the leaked footage, stating in an audio message that the video had been recorded over two years ago. She expressed shock and confusion about how the video resurfaced, insisting that she had deleted it from her device and never shared it with anyone. According to Hafsat, the clip came from a Snapchat photo taken after she stepped out of the shower, a photo she claims was neither saved nor shared.

The situation escalated further when fellow TikTok star Babiana Queen of Update accused individuals of leaking the video after attempting to blackmail Hafsat for money, a demand she refused to meet.

The controversy surrounding Hafsat Baby continues to generate widespread debate online, as Hisbah strengthens its stance on inappropriate social media content.
