Among the treasures of Islam is the blessed day of Jumu'ah, Friday, which holds a hidden hour in which supplications are accepted. The righteous predecessors (Salaf) gave this time immense importance, especially after the Asr prayer. Their actions remind us of the value of seeking Allah's mercy during this sacred period.

It is reported that Sa'id Ibn Jubair (رضي الله عنه) would, after praying Asr, completely avoid unnecessary conversations and dedicate his time solely to supplication until sunset. Similarly, Fatimah (رضي الله عنها), the beloved daughter of the Prophet ﷺ, would send her servant to observe the sun's setting on Fridays. As soon as she was informed that the time was near, she would immerse herself in heartfelt du'a until Maghrib.

Abdullah ibn Salam (رضي الله عنه) clarified that the day consists of twelve hours, and the special hour of acceptance falls during the last part of Friday, after Asr. This belief led many scholars and pious individuals to dedicate their focus entirely to Allah during this time, hoping their requests would be granted.

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) highlighted that the final hour of Friday after Asr is revered not only by Muslims but also acknowledged by people of earlier scriptures. He further compared its spiritual significance to Laylat al-Qadr in Ramadan, emphasizing its immense blessing and opportunity.

Examples of this practice can be seen in Tawus Ibn Kaysan (رحمه الله), Al-Mufadhal Ibn Fudalah (رحمه الله), and others, who would seclude themselves in the masjid, facing the Qiblah in deep du'a until sunset. Even miraculous stories are narrated, such as Al-Salt bin Bastam regaining his eyesight after his brothers prayed for him during this sacred time.

In conclusion, the Salaf recognized the Hour of Acceptance on Fridays as a divine gift. Following their example, Muslims today should seize the moments after Asr on Jumu'ah, humbling themselves in prayer, seeking forgiveness, and asking Allah for their needs. It is a chance not to be wasted.
