Islam is a faith that is built on a set of fundamental beliefs and practices, which are the foundation of a Muslim's relationship with Allah (God). In this post, we will explore the core beliefs and pillars of Islam, supported by Quranic verses, Hadith, and examples.

The Six Articles of Faith

The six articles of faith are the basic beliefs that every Muslim must adhere to. They are:
Belief in Allah: Muslims believe in one God, who is the Creator, Sustainer, and Lord of the universe.
Quranic verse: "وَرَبُكَ الْغَفُورُ ذُو الرَحْمَةِ" (Quran 18:58)
"And your Lord is the Most Forgiving, Full of Mercy."

Belief in the Angels: Muslims believe in the existence of angels, who are created by Allah to carry out specific tasks.
Quranic verse: "وَيَقُولُونَ اتَخَذَ الرَحْمَنُ وَلَدًا سُبْحَانَهُ بَلْ عِبَادٌ مُكْرَمُونَ" (Quran 21:26)
"And they say: 'The Most Merciful has taken a son.' Glory be to Him! They are but honored slaves."

Belief in the Prophets: Muslims believe in the prophets sent by Allah, including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad (peace be upon them).
Quranic verse: "وَإِنَّا لَسَنَدْعُ مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ بِمَا كَانُوا يَعْبُدُونَ" (Quran 40:78)
"And indeed, We have sent Messengers before you (O Muhammad); of some of them We have related to you their story, and of some We have not related to you their story."

Belief in the Revealed Books: Muslims believe in the divine books revealed by Allah, including the Torah, Psalms, Gospel, and Quran.
Quranic verse: "وَأَنْزَلْنَا إِلَيْكَ الْكِتَابَ بِالْحَقِّ مُصَدِّقًا لِمَا بَيْنَ يَدَيْهِ مِنَ الْكِتَابِ وَمُهَيْمِنًا عَلَيْهِ" (Quran 5:48)
"And We have sent down to you the Book (Quran) in truth, confirming the Scripture that came before it and trustworthy in highness and a witness over it (old Scriptures)."

Belief in the Day of Judgment: Muslims believe in the Day of Judgment, when every individual will be held accountable for their actions in this life.
Quranic verse: "وَكُلُّ نَفْسٍ تُجْزَى بِمَا تَكْسِبُ وَهُمْ لَا يُظْلَمُونَ" (Quran 39:70)
"And every soul shall be paid in full what it has done, and they shall not be wronged."

Belief in the Divine Decree: Muslims believe in the divine decree, which is the knowledge and power of Allah to determine the course of events.
Quranic verse: "وَمَا تَشَاءُونَ إِلَّا أَنْ يَشَاءَ اللَّهُ" (Quran 81:29)
"And you do not will unless it is Allah's will to will."

The Five Pillars of Islam
The five pillars of Islam are the fundamental practices that every Muslim must perform. They are:
Shahada (Declaration of Faith): The declaration that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
Hadith: "أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ" (Sahih Bukhari)
"I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."
Salah (Prayer): The performance of five daily prayers, which are obligatory for every Muslim.
Quranic verse: "وَأَقِيمُوا الصَلَاةَ لِذِكْرِي" (Quran 20:14)
"And establish prayer for My remembrance."
Zakat (Charity): The payment of a portion of one's wealth to the poor and needy.
