The period after Asr prayer on Friday holds immense significance in Islam, particularly as a time when supplications (Du'as) are believed to be accepted. This blessed hour is a cherished opportunity for devotion.

Many prominent figures from early Islamic history exemplified this practice. Sa'id Ibn Jubair (رضي الله عنه), for instance, would completely dedicate himself to supplication after Asr on Fridays, refraining from all conversation until sunset.

Similarly, Fatimah (رضي الله عنها), the beloved daughter of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), would send a servant to monitor the setting sun on Fridays. Upon notification, she would immerse herself in heartfelt Du'a until the sun had fully set.

Scholarly consensus affirms this special hour. Abdullah ibn Salam (رضي الله عنه) stated, "The day consists of twelve hours, and the hour mentioned on Friday is the last hour of the day," indicating it as the time for accepted prayers.

Later scholars and imams further emphasized this. Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal (رحمه الله) confirmed, "From what is proven from the ahadeeth is that this hour starts after Asr and it can also be hoped for after the setting of the sun."

Imam Ibn al-Qayyim (رحمه الله) eloquently compared this sacred time to the Night of Decree (Laylat al-Qadr) in Ramadan, highlighting its profound spiritual significance for seeking Allah's mercy and blessings.
