The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has made several major drug-related arrests and seizures across Nigeria, disrupting criminal activities and illegal drug trafficking networks.

In Lagos, two Saudi Arabia-bound pilgrims were arrested after being caught with drugs in their stomachs. One of the suspects excreted 65 wraps of cocaine weighing 1.41 kilograms during observation. The NDLEA stated that this was part of their effort to keep international travel drug-free.

In Rivers State, NDLEA agents, along with Customs officers and other security personnel, inspected seven containers at the Port Harcourt Ports Complex between May 28 and May 30. Inside, they found 825,200 bottles of codeine-based syrup and Trodol, valued at 5.7 billion. They also discovered 5.1 million opioid pills, especially Tapentadol 225mg, worth ₦3.57 billion.

In Kano, two men, Abubakar Hussein (42) and Sahabi Adamu (53), were arrested on the Kano–Maiduguri road with $900,000 suspected to be fake. They have been handed over to appropriate authorities for further investigation.

Meanwhile, in Adamawa State, 390 blocks of cannabis, also known as skunk, were found in an abandoned Toyota Sienna van along Ngurore–Yola road. The drugs weighed 275.3 kilograms.

In another operation in Kwara State on May 31, a well-known female drug dealer, Alhaja Mutiat Abdul-Fatai, was arrested in Ilorin's Oja Oba area. Officers found large amounts of tramadol, flunitrazepam, and codeine syrup in her possession.

These coordinated operations reflect NDLEA's determination to eliminate illegal drugs across Nigeria and protect communities from the dangers of substance abuse.
