A wave of killings and kidnappings by armed bandits has forced residents of Guga, Kakumi, and Kandarawa in Bakori Local Government Area (LGA) of Katsina State to abandon their homes. 

Despite the recent launch of the state government's (C-Watch initiative) to curb insecurity, violent attacks persist, spreading fear across the region. Reports indicate that residents of neighboring LGAs, including Kankara, Malumfashi, and Faskari, are also experiencing similar threats. 

A social media user, @DanKatsina50, shared images of displaced villagers, lamenting the deteriorating security situation in Southern Katsina, especially during Ramadan. "Despite government efforts, bandits continue to terrorize communities, making life unbearable," the post read. 

Meanwhile, SaharaReporters confirmed that the violence is not confined to Bakori LGA, as bandits remain active in multiple parts of the state. The escalation has raised doubts about the effectiveness of the government's security strategies. 

In response to the crisis, the Katsina State government established a **commission of inquiry** led by Justice Abbas Abdullah Bawale to investigate the root causes of the attacks. Public hearings have been conducted to gather testimonies from affected communities. 

As insecurity worsens, residents are calling for more decisive actions to restore safety. The government's response will be critical in determining the future stability of the region.
