Israeli forces killed a Palestinian man and injured three others near military checkpoints in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. The deadly incident adds to the rising tensions in the region.

The ministry confirmed that the victim was Ahmad Shehadeh, aged 57, from the town of Urif in Nablus. He was shot dead near the al-Murabba'a military checkpoint. Israeli forces reportedly opened fire during confrontations that erupted around the area.

In a separate incident, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that three Palestinians were wounded and assaulted by Israeli soldiers at the Deir Sharaf checkpoint, located west of Nablus. Medical teams provided treatment before transferring them to local hospitals.

Palestinians frequently complain of abuse, beatings, and harassment while crossing Israeli military checkpoints. Daily restrictions severely affect their movement, disrupt daily life, and increase frustrations in the occupied West Bank.

The Palestinian Colonisation and Wall Resistance Commission (CWRC) has documented 898 permanent and temporary Israeli checkpoints scattered across the West Bank. These barriers divide Palestinian lands and restrict the free movement of people and goods, contributing to social and economic hardship.

This latest killing highlights the ongoing human rights concerns in the occupied territories. With violence and restrictions intensifying, Palestinians continue to face mounting pressure under Israeli occupation. Calls for accountability and international intervention are growing louder as such incidents become increasingly common.
