During an overnight raid in Jenin, Israeli forces apprehended Ali Al-Samoudi, a well-known Palestinian journalist. This incident occurred on Tuesday in the northern West Bank city. Al-Samoudi is a correspondent for Al-Quds newspaper and is 58 years old.

The Israeli military conducted a search of Al-Samoudi's home in the Al-Zahraa neighborhood during the raid. His family reported that "some of its contents" were destroyed in the process. The military alleges that Al-Samoudi has connections to the Palestinian Islamic Jihad.

Furthermore, the Israeli military claims Al-Samoudi was involved in transferring funds to this militant organization. However, they have not presented any evidence to substantiate these accusations. Following his interrogation, Al-Samoudi's health declined, necessitating his transfer to an Israeli hospital.

His son, Mohammed, informed the BBC about his father's hospitalization. The family, vehemently denying the accusations against Al-Samoudi, has not been provided with the name of the hospital or any other specific details regarding his condition or whereabouts.

Notably, Al-Samoudi was a survivor of a 2022 attack by Israeli forces. This same assault tragically resulted in the death of Shireen Abu Aqleh, a prominent Palestinian-American journalist working for Al-Jazeera. In that incident, Al-Samoudi sustained a gunshot wound to his back.
