Ex-Israeli Chief Says 50 Palestinians Must Die Per Israeli

A leaked audio recording from Israel has sparked global outrage. Israel's Channel 12 broadcast tapes of retired Maj. Gen. Aharon Haliva, a former military intelligence chief, making shocking remarks about Palestinian lives in Gaza.

In the recordings, Haliva was heard saying: "For every person killed on October 7, 50 Palestinians must die." He described this staggering death ratio as something he believes is necessary for Israel's future security.

Haliva further claimed that Palestinians "need a Nakba every now and then to feel the price." The Nakba, or "catastrophe," refers to the mass displacement of Palestinians during the 1948 creation of Israel, an event still deeply painful for millions today.

The leaked statements appear to justify large-scale civilian deaths in Gaza as a deliberate military strategy. Haliva insisted the policy was "not revenge" but a "deterrent to future generations." His words portray mass suffering as a tool to prevent future uprisings against Israel.

Human rights organizations and global commentators have strongly condemned the remarks. Many argue that advocating mass killing based on nationality or identity violates international law and basic human rights. Critics also say it exposes how Palestinian civilians are treated as expendable in ongoing conflicts.

This leak has fueled heated debate about Israel's military policies and their human cost. Calls are growing for accountability and a renewed push for peace, with many insisting that lasting security can never be built on systematic violence against innocent civilians.
