Suspected Boko Haram terrorists killed 12 in Borno's Gwoza LGA. The victims included 10 firewood fetchers and 2 vigilantes. The Emir of Gwoza confirmed the incident, expressing sadness over the loss of life.

The attack occurred in Bokko Ghide community. The firewood fetchers were ambushed in a nearby bush. Two vigilantes were also killed in a separate incident on Friday.

The injured were evacuated to Maiduguri for medical attention. The Emir prayed for the victims' souls, asking God to grant them paradise. He commended the state government and military for their efforts against Boko Haram.

He urged the military to deploy technology like drones to end the crisis, noting increased attacks have demoralized locals and hindered farming activities ahead of the rainy season.
